Jane Fendelman, founder of the Phoenix Rising Universe City training site, has a Bachelor of Science in Education from Southwest Missouri State University (1982) and a Masters in Counseling from the University of Phoenix (1993). Her background includes 12 years experience as a psychotherapist and 28 years as a Missouri and Arizona state certified teacher. Over the years, Jane developed the Fendelman Metanoia Techniques and trains individuals, couples, families, psychotherapists, doctors, teachers, school administrators, college interns and corporations in her profound and effective methods for healing and life-change.
Jane is trained and certified as a Critical Incidence Debriefing Specialist, is a Couples/Family Expert, certified Hospice Worker, Hospice Bereavement Counselor, "Death Midwife," Green Funeral Director and has a Minister's License as an Omni-Denominational Minister trained in all the Great Religions and many of the obscure ones; respecting and supporting all spiritual beliefs, including Atheism and Agnosticism.

Jane coined the term, Phoenix Rising Universe City when she began training doctors, psychiatrists and nurses at Charter Hospital, in Scottsdale, AZ, in her expert methods for brief-therapy for sexual abuse in 1994. She has been educating teachers, school administrators, parents, couples, families, ASU and Prescott College interns, psychologists, psychiatrists and healers in the Fendelman Metanoia Techniques for over 12 years now.

We cannot solve a problem at the level of the problem. Jane has developed the Fendelman Metanoia Techniques over her years of teaching/training/counseling professionals, individuals, couples and families in all areas from basic communication, to severe childhood trauma, including physical, mental, emotional and sexual abuse.

Jane resides in Phoenix, Arizona where she founded her private practice in 1993. Jane is best known as AZ Midday's couples expert, and for helping families cure their children of ADD/ADHD, Oppositional Defiant, Mild Autism and Bipolar Disorders without drugs, within 3 -5 sessions, healing old trauma and saving couples/marriages.
Jane's charismatic style and inspiring perspective have made her very popular as a featured speaker/faciltator at the Fresh Start Women's Foundation, Hospice of the Valley, Hearts for Hospice, on air via KFNX, KTAR, KXAM and KZON radio, as well as numerous other national radio shows. She has also appeared as a special guest on several television shows including Sonoran Living, 3 News, Your Life A to Z, Good Morning AZ, The Pat McMahon Show and Arizona Midday where she was featured as the weekly "couples expert."
Jane teaches parenting and couples workshops and is always available for speaking engagements. She offers a free two-hour in-service to any school or organization that would like to learn how to work with children without drugging them. Fendelman needed to talk about things that her friends and family where not comfortable with ... like death and dying. With no one to turn to, a 40% chance to survive, and an intention to say what she felt needed saying before she died, she started talking to her video camera. Jane could never have predicted what happened next. The video-taping was deeply healing for her and miraculously uplifting to others. Jane says, "The whole experience gave me wings. I'm so lucky I got Cancer." Her story "Jane Doe" is every woman's story.

The Phoenix Rising Universe City Soul Center
Inspired by her own desire to pay it forward, Jane Fendelman has been dreaming of The Phoenix Rising Soul Center for more than 15 years. Now that Cancer has touched her life, it is time to take action.
The Phoenix Rising Soul Center is a place for the broken and broken-hearted to come and rise from the ashes. This lush and pristine retreat center will offer a wide variety of healing modalities, including individual, couples/marriage and family counseling; hypnotherapy; art, theater and dance therapy; reflexology; aroma, sound and light therapy; and all forms of mediation including a walking meditation on our tranquil "Path of Heart," garden maze. Phoenix Rising Soul Center will assist clients in all areas of human challenge, including physical, mental, emotional and sexual traumas. Clients will learn to cultivate and choreograph a healthier way of life; body, mind and spirit.
A serene and radiant, diamond oasis in the desert, this peaceful retreat center, will include one and two-bedroom casita-style cottages surrounding a spectacular, 60-foot long, sparkling reflecting pool. Fendelman plans to keep at least one cottage unoccupied for an individual or couple in need of shelter, who must complete the six-month rehabilitation program in exchange for their lodgings.
In addition to the many kinds of therapy that will be offered, there will be seminars and workshops as well as weekend programs. Fendelman also plans to use the Center to train other counselors so her Fendelman Metanoia Techniques will be practiced in perpetuity. Fendelman was diagnosed with an aggressive breast cancer in May of 2005. "I would like to touch a lot of hearts before I die, whenever that may be. What is a life, without service to humanity? We're all like the Phoenix and can rise from the ashes of our own darkness. We all have wings on our back...we've just forgotten."
